Chaired by commission member A Saifuddin Haji, the meeting addressed workplace harassment complaints faced by an employee from the Kalady Plantation Kallala estate division, mandating the Plantation Corporation managing director to ensure that the complainant does not encounter any discrimination.

Employment Issues Resolved in Kochi News

Further insights include a petition from a resident of Edavanakkad seeking permanent employment at the Kerala Beverages Corporation after a temporary job in 2011-12. The commission noted that the managing director's report regarding the complaint, submitted over a decade after the employment period, was factual and required adherence to current regulations.

Additionally, another petition was presented by a resident of Manjapra Amalapuram regarding eviction from land owned by the irrigation department for the Idamalayar project. The commission instructed the chief engineer to assess whether relief could be granted, focusing on the applicant's social and economic status, while emphasizing that illegal encroachments on government land are not supported.

Out of five complaints reviewed, two were resolved, and three were scheduled for further hearing. This marks a significant step in addressing workplace issues and employment rights in Kochi.
