NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed higher in Tuesday's session. MOIL Ltd.(up 4.02%), NMDC Ltd.(up 3.97%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 1.01%), Coal India Ltd.(up 0.74%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 0.56%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 0.50%) and KIOCL Ltd.(up 0.22%) stood among the top gainers.

The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 4.31%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 2.06%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 0.82%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 0.74%), Lexus Granito (India) Ltd.(down 0.35%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 0.27%) and Pokarna Ltd.(down 0.20%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 1.36 points up at 25940.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 14.57 points at 84914.04.

Tata Steel Ltd.(up 4.25%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 3.96%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 2.61%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.87%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.36%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.31%), Wipro Ltd.(up 0.87%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.85%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.81%) and JSW Steel Ltd.(up 0.78%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 2.91%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 2.58%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.79%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 1.68%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.45%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.25%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.15%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.06%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.04%) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.04%) closed in the red.
