Dayton Police Department's Commitment to Safety During HauntFest
Safety Measures Established by DPD for HauntFest
Dayton Police Department (DPD) takes safety very seriously during the annual HauntFest. With ghouls and goblins populating the streets of downtown Dayton, DPD has adopted significant precautions to ensure everyone enjoys the spooky celebration without incident. Over 30 officers were deployed across the Oregon District, stationed by every entrance and exit, and near main parking lots around Fifth Street. Additionally, officers monitored areas close to alcoholic stands to maintain order.
Enhanced Security and Crowd Management
For this year’s HauntFest, DPD has increased patrols compared to previous events. Screening protocols were put in place as patrons entered, ensuring thorough bag searches. Sergeant Creigee Coleman highlights how these adjustments not only promote safety but also improve pedestrian traffic flow.
